    Your Phone Description Deletes characters from the display. In menu mode, returns to the previous menu level. Ends a call. Also switches the phone on and off when held down.     Phonebook You can store phone numbers and their corresponding names in the memory of your SIM card. In addition, you can store up to 500 numbers in the phone memory. The SIM card and phone memories, although physically separate, are used as if they were a single entity, called the phonebook.

    Entering Text Rapid Character Entry Rapid character entry is easy in any mode, using the Character Selection Map. As you enter characters, your phone predicts the next character you might want and presents choices in the Character Selection Map area. When a desired character appears, you may select it as described in Step 3 on page 47.

    Options During a Call Your phone provides a number of control functions that you can use during a call. Putting a Call on Hold You can place the current call on hold whenever you want. You can make another call while you have a call in progress if this service is supported by the network.

    Messages The SMS (Short Message Service) function is a network service and may not be supported by your network. Messages can be sent by text, fax, Email and paging messaging systems, provided that these services are supported by your network. To send text messages by phone, you must obtain the number of the SMS centre from your service provider.
