Hold power tools by the insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the cutting tool may contact hidden wiring or its own cord.

    6. TIPS FOR MAINTAINING MAXIMUM BATTERY LIFE a) Charge the battery pack before completely discharged. Always stop tool operation and charge the battery pack when you notice a decrease in tool power. b) Charge the battery pack between 41-105° F (5-40.5° C). Let a hot battery pack cool down before charging it.

    5240-051 20V MAX LI ION CORDLESS PRUNING SAW ASSEMBLY AND OPERATION The pruning saw is intended for cutting only wood and branches up to a diameter of 3.15 inches ( 8cm). CHECKING THE BATTERY CHARGER STATUS The level of charge remaining in the battery can be checked by using the battery LED power indicator that is contained on the end of the battery.
  • Page 16 NOTES: 1. When the charger is plugged into the wall receptacle and NO battery is on the charger, the green indicator light (5) will turn ON indicating the charger is “live”. 2. When a discharged battery is installed on the charger, the green indicator light will turn OFF and the red indicator light (6) will turn ON.

OPERATING THE TRIGGER AND SAFETY LOCK OUT The saw chain is equipped with both a lock-o and trigger switch. To turn the saw chain ON: 1.
  • Page 18 REMOVING OR INSTALLING SAW CHAIN WARNING: Cutting edges on chain are sharp. Always use protective gloves when handling the chain. WARNING: The saw chain and the guide bar are still hot just after the operation. Let them cool down enough before carrying out any work on the tool. WARNING: Carry out the procedure of installing or removing saw chain in a clean place free from sawdust and the like.
  • Page 19 5240-051 20V MAX LI ION CORDLESS PRUNING SAW ADJUSTING SAW CHAIN TENSION WARNING: The saw chain is not yet tensioned. NOTE: New saw chains will stretch. Check the chain tension frequently when first used and tighten when the chain becomes loose around the guide bar.
  • Page 20 WORKING WITH THE CORDLESS PRUNING SAW WARNING: The first time user should, as a minimum practice, do cutting logs on a sawhorse or cradle. WARNING: Secure round pieces against rotation. WARNING: Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the motor is operating.

    MAINTENANCE GENERAL WARNING: When servicing this tool, use only identical replacement parts. The use of any other part may create a hazard or cause product damage. DO NOT use solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use a clean cloth to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease etc.
  • Page 23 5240-051 20V MAX LI ION CORDLESS PRUNING SAW LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PERFORMANCE Lithium-ion batteries perform best and deliver peak output power at room temperature (20℃ or 68℉). When operated in lower temperatures, the battery output will be reduced and it will NOT function below -20℃(14℉). The output power will increase as the heat generated by the battery during use increases the internal temperature of the battery.

    WARRANTY CORDLESS PRUNING SAW WARRANTY If this Radley tool fails due to a defect in material or workmanship within three years from the date of purchase, return it to any Home Hardware store with the original bill of sale for exchange. Two years for battery and charger. This warranty does not include expendable parts including but not limited to blades, brushes, belts and light bulbs.
