Photo Tips and Information Tip for Using the Self-timer (p.68) Normally the camera shakes a little when you press the shutter button. Setting the self-timer to delays the shutter release for 2 seconds and allows the camera to stop shaking, thus preventing a blurred image. Even better results can be obtained by placing the camera on a stable surface or by using a tripod to shoot.
Page 151
ISO Speed (p.87) The ISO speed is the numeric representation of the camera’s sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO speed, the higher the sensitivity. A high ISO speed allows you to shoot images in dark indoor or outdoor conditions without a flash and also helps prevent blurred images due to camera shake.
