Under CRU Service, the Service Provider will ship CRUs to you at its cost for installation by you. CRU information and replacement instructions are shipped with your product and are available from Lenovo at any time upon request. CRUs that are easily installed by you are called “Self-service CRUs”. “Optional-service CRUs”...

Under Mail-In Service, your product will be repaired or exchanged at a designated service center after you deliver it at your risk and expense. After the product has been repaired or exchanged, it will be returned to you at Lenovo’s risk and expense, unless the Service Provider specifies otherwise.
You may be charged for the replacement product if Lenovo does not receive the failed product within thirty (30) days of your receipt of the replacement product.
Optional-service CRUs are safe for the customer to remove. Customers are responsible for replacing all Self-service CRUs. Optional-service CRUs can be removed and installed by customers or by a Lenovo service technician during the warranty period. Lenovo desktop computers contain both Self-service and Optional-service CRUs.
