• EN-2 EB SERIES INTRODUCTION Ths manual contans nstallaton, operaton and mantenance nstructons for the EB Seres Weghng Scale. Please read the manual completely before nstallaton and operaton. EB SERIES EN-3 INSTALLATION Unpacking Unpack and verfy that the followng components have been ncluded: • Scale Unt • Weghng Platform (plastc base wth stanless steel pan) • Instructon Manual • AC Adapter Save the packagng materal. Ths packagng ensures the deal protecton for the storage or transport of the product. Installing Components Poston the weghng platform pns nto the through-holes on the top housng, then set the platform securely nto place. Secure the n-use cover wth double-sded tape as needed. IMPORTANT: • Before usng the scale, remove the shipping protection screw located underneath the scale. Ths screw ensures protecton of the load cell durng transport, but wll need to be removed for the scale to operate properly. • It s recommended that the protectve screw be re-nstalled f transportng the scale. Do not over-tghten the protectve screw as t may damage the load cell. To re-nstall, turn the scale on and place a 500g weght on the pan, then slowly screw n the protecton screw untl the dsplay shows a value between 250g to 400g. Selecting the Location Operate the scale on a frm, level surface. Avod locatons wth rapd temperature changes, excessve ar currents, vbratons, electromagnetc felds, heat or drect sunlght. -

EN-4 EB SERIES Connecting Power 2.5.1 AC Power Verfy that the ntended AC power source matches the AC adapter ratng. Connect the suppled AC adapter to the power nput receptacle underneath the scale. Plug the AC adapter nto a properly grounded power outlet. 2.5.2 Battery Power The battery wll begn chargng wth the AC adapter connected accordngly. An LED ndcator below and to the rght of the dsplay shows the status of battery chargng: • Green – battery s fully charged • Yellow – battery s partally charged and chargng • Red – battery s nearly dscharged When AC power s not avalable, the scale wll operate on the nternal rechargeable battery. The scale wll automatcally swtch to battery operaton f there s a power falure or the power cord s removed. Low battery charge s ndcated by the low battery annuncator on the dsplay (the scale wll operate for approxmately 10 hours more before automatcally swtchng off). Before usng the scale for the frst tme, the nternal rechargeable battery should be fully charged for up to 12 hours. A fully charged battery can operate the scale for approxmately 80 hours ndependent of AC power. The scale can be operated durng the chargng process. The battery s protected aganst overchargng and the scale can reman connected to the AC power lne. NOTES: • The battery must be recharged every 3 months f the scale s not used for a long tme. • Replace the battery f t does not charge or hold a full charge. • Dspose of the lead acd battery accordng to local laws and regulatons. -

OPERATIONS Switching the Unit On and Off The power swtch s located underneath the rght-hand sde of the scale. Push the swtch to the “I” poston to turn the scale on, and to the “O” poston to turn the scale off. Allow 15-30 mnutes for the scale to warm up before use. NOTE: Make sure the weghng pan s empty before turnng the scale on. Manual Tare A Tare value n memory s ndcated by “TARE” on the dsplay. -

EB SERIES EN-7 Zero Operation Center of Zero s ndcated by “ZERO” on the dsplay. Press ZERO. “------” wll be dsplayed momentarly before the dsplay s zeroed. Changing Weighing Units Press UNITS successvely to toggle through the avalable weghng unts. Check-Weighing/Counting, Percent Check Compares the weght or quantty (count) of an tem aganst a pre- set H-Lo range. To ntate enterng H-Lo parameters, press CHECK. “00000.0” wll be dsplayed (or the last value entered) wth the actve dgt flashng. Enter the desred “H” lmt value (ex. 50g) by pressng or to navgate across the dgts, and to ncrement the actve dgt. Press Enter to set the dsplayed value. “00000.0” wll be subsequently dsplayed (or the last value entered). Enter the desred “Lo” lmt value (ex. 20g), then press Enter to set the dsplayed value. When the weght or quantty of tems placed on the pan s wthn the H-Lo range, “OK“ s dsplayed and the check-alarm wll beep contnuously wthn ths range. To check-count, press CHECK n Countng Mode (dsplayed unt s “pcs”) For Percent check, press CHECK n Percent Mode (dsplayed unt s “%”) -

Ths effectvely exts from Check-Weghng/Countng Mode also. Sampling, Calculating Average Piece Weight (APW) Countng Mode s ndcated by “pcs” or “pc” on the dsplay. Place the desred sample onto the weghng pan (or nto a tared contaner) (ex. 500g). Press COUNT to ntate samplng. “SP 10” (or last sample szed used) wll be dsplayed, then press Enter. “------“ wll be dsplayed momentarly before the sample sze pece count s dsplayed. NOTES: • To change the sample sze, press successvely to dsplay: “SP 20”, “SP 50”, “SP 100”, “SP 200”, “SP 500”, “SP 1000”. Press Enter to select the dsplayed sample sze. -

EB SERIES EN-9 Displaying Count Data in Counting Mode In Countng Mode, press successvely to toggle through: Pece Count, APW and Total Weght. NOTE: APW data wll be dsplayed only wth kg and g weghng unts. Accumulation: Weight and Quantity (Count) Place the tem to be weghed/counted on the pan (ex. 300g or 300 pcs) then press M+. The accumulaton entry “ACC ##” (maxmum 99 entres or untl the capacty weght dsplay s exceeded) s dsplayed momentarly before revertng to weghng/countng mode. NOTES: • The dsplayed weght must be stable for M+ to regster. • Dsplay must return to zero before the next accumulaton can regster. • To recall Accumulaton memory, press M+ wth the pan empty. The total no. of entres, then total weght/count value, wll be dsplayed momentarly before revertng to weghng/countng mode. • To clear Accumulaton memory, press Clear durng the recall sequence. • Accumulaton data s not retaned when the unt s turned off. -

EN-10 EB SERIES Percent Weighing Place the reference tem on the pan (ex. 300g) then press %. “100.00%” wll be dsplayed. The weght of any tem subsequently placed on the pan wll be dsplayed as a percentage (ex. 600g wll be dsplayed as 200%) of the orgnally establshed reference weght. NOTES: • It s normal for small weght changes to be dsplayed as large decmal ncrements n %. • To ext Percent Mode, press Exit . 5. SCALE SETTINGS • Press then release COUNT and M+ at the same tme to enter nto the user- selectable scale settngs (Setup mode). In Setup mode: o Press to step through avalable settngs o Press Enter to accept the dsplayed settng and proceed to the next parameter o Press Exit to proceed to the next parameter wthout savng any changes • Re-start the scale after changng settngs n the Setup mode. EB SERIES EN-11 6. CALIBRATION For best results, calbrate the scale at regular ntervals. Temperature changes, gravty varatons, alttude changes and abuse are few reasons why a scale may need recalbraton. When the scale s deally postoned for operaton, enter calbraton and proceed as follows: Long-press ZERO and COUNT at the same tme to ntate calbraton. The requred calbraton weght flashes on the dsplay (ex. 3000g). At ths tme, a dfferent calbraton weght value can be selected by pressng . Avalable selectons are 1/3, 2/3 and 100% of full capacty. Once the desred value s dsplayed, place the correspondng weght on the pan. The dsplay flashes untl the actual weght s regstered and the calbraton process ends (the scale re-starts). At ths tme, remove the weght on the pan before the dsplay count-down sequence ends. NOTES: • Calbraton weght s dsplayed n grams only. • To abort the calbraton process, turn the scale off. • If needed, the factory default calbraton value can be recovered. As the scale s turned on, press TARE and COUNT at the same tme durng the power-on sequence. The power-on sequence wll re-cycle and the scale wll rentate wth the default calbraton. -

EN-14 EB SERIES LIMITED WARRANTY Ohaus products are warranted aganst defects n materals and workmanshp from the date of delvery through the duraton of the warranty perod. Durng the warranty perod, Ohaus wll repar, or, at ts opton, replace any component(s) that proves to be defectve at no charge, provded that the product s returned, freght prepad, to Ohaus. Ths warranty does not apply f the product has been damaged by accdent or msuse, exposed to radoactve or corrosve materals, has foregn materal penetratng to the nsde of the product, or as a result of servce or modfcaton by other than Ohaus. In leu of a properly returned warranty regstraton card, the warranty perod shall begn on the date of shpment to the authorzed dealer. No other express or mpled warranty s gven by Ohaus Corporaton.
